Are there any BT'ers running this?  I'm running the full.

I missed registration for this years race but I will be there working as a bike medic! I ran the full last year. Is this your first Bayshore?

Hope you have a great race. The course there is awesome. I did the 10k last year.

I was hoping that would be my first marathon, but I had a conflict so my first will be the Cleveland next week.

Last May that was my first -- and I'll heartily say my last -- FULL marathon.  It was a beautifully done race, start to finish.  I highly recommend it.  Small race.  LOTS and LOTS of aid stations / porta potties.  Beautiful scenery.  Nearly pancake flat.  Surely veterans will do a PR there.

Good Luck!  I will always have fond memories of that painful journey

LOL- I think everyone has those thoughts after their first marathon!

Glad to hear it's actually pancake flat.  The past 2 mary's I've done were advertised as flat, and they weren't- they were pretty hilly and I about died.  So I'm looking forward to running a "true" flat course.

I have done the 10K a couple of times, and I will second the thought that it is an "easy" course, 1/2 and full marathon included. Running out with Grand Traverse Bay on each side of you, the water cooling the temperatures, beautiful scenery, usually a great crowd as you run by cottages they all gather at the end of their driveways cheering, and flat, flat, flat...

You will do great!!

Anyone know of a marathon/half in Charlevoix coming up soon?  I heard some guys talking about it at the gym, but they didn't know the details.

  • ..26.2mi is an insane distance. how long did you train before your first?

  • Call me insane but I completed my first mary (the Bayshore) 9 months after I started running. I had so much fun that I decided to run another 6 months later in California.

The Bayshore is a great course. It's not 100% flat as there are some small rollers...very easy for anyone whose ready for the distance.

    See you there!
