I'm training for my first half iron. I'm a strong swimmer and not so worried about that leg of the race but I'm wondering if I should train in the pool with a buoy if I will be wearing a wetsuit? I see so many people who train for half and full irons swimming lap after lap with a buoy isolating their legs. I wonder if this is beneficial?

I do think that a pull buoy simulates swimming in a wetsuit pretty well--at lesat the body position it affords you. That being said, if you do too much you can become a bit addicted and sort of forget how to swim without one. So, later in the season when you do non-wetsuit-legal races, you'll find your form has gone to hell.
