Total Time = 8h 30m

Pre-race routine:

get outta bed, make egg sandwiches, gather kids, head out.
Run
  • 28m 2s
  • 2.65 miles
  • 10m 35s  min/mile
Comments:

Goal was to run the whole 5K... RD erroneously set up a 2.65 mile instead of a 3.1 mile... but I ran what was offered without walking which was my goal - no walking. I slowed my pace about 2/3 (?) way through to make sure I have gas to finish. If I'd known the course was shortened, there was no need to slow! I finished with steam left. :)
What would you do differently?:

felt good. Would have been nice to run right distance, but not in my control!
Post race
Warm down:

wander to find hubby and kids, they finished a handful of minutes behind me. Get post race goodies.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Probably could have picked up pace again sooner for finish, but was unsure of course - figures since RD was too.

Event comments:

Besides the error in the routing which made the 5K into a 2.65mile course, it was a nice race. Disappointing to think you've run a 5K only to be told 20 minutes after finish "uh, sorry folks, that was only 5/6ths of the race." Amazing considering this was the 15th year - and supposedly a USATF event.

That happen to me once, but it was the police officers directing us in the wrong direction, I thought I was super speedy, NOT!

Great job running the whole thing.

I think its seldom that you find a race you are completely happy about, from what I have found. Great race! You have to be happy with that!

I did not realize that you were from South Bay, were almost neighbors!
