A tri mate once said to me that when he finishes his first Ironman he's going to get a small tattoo of the Ironman "M" symbol near his ankle.  Just wondering if anyone else out there has one similar to it?

Triathlons and tattoos go  hand in hand or so it seems.   I don't see much body marking at marathons.  Just an observation.

I have to smile to myself after reading all the replies as I see that nothing has changed in the 12 years I've been away from the sport Cool

I think we should do a deeper dive and discuss getting a M-dot tattoo if you completed an iron distance tri that was not a sanctioned IronMan trademark race .

Been done.  Basically my feeling is 140.6 is 140.6.  I plan on doing a non-IM Trademark race next year and getting a tattoo after I finish.

I was sort of kidding...

seems to be one of those hot items, like walking in races, flip turns, ipods, etc.

If I ever do one that's not an m-dot event (REdman in OK City) I'm going to get a tat that says `140.6' on it.

I was thinking about doing that anyway. Getting `26.2' and `70.3' then `140.6' when I finish my HIM (a month away, now) and IM (hopefully in '09).

Why bother? Everyone knows that unless you've raced Kona, you're not a True Ironman, anyway.

Yo... what's wrong with walking in races? I can tell you... I walk faster than some people run.
