Expert 1049 Jacksonville, FL | Subject: RE: Ironman tattoo's? brian - 2008-08-20 1:50 PM For someone else to criticize whether or not someone should get a tat is like telling someone they should or should not go out for a beer after a successful race. They can go out for a beer ... so long as it is (which might be, in fact, the suspect liquid in said Cheerios): In all seriousness, I've been hanging around BT for more than a couple years ... and Rick (Daremo) has not been a parade rainer. A 'go-to' person when I have a wrench question - even if he rides the slow Felt bikes. FYI - If you finish an IM then you should be drinking Ironman beer, not Colt 45. Hey - there's an idea for a new product. |

Cycling Guru 15134 Fulton, MD | Subject: RE: Ironman tattoo's? hazmaster - 2008-08-20 6:48 PM Daremo - 2008-08-20 11:36 AM Wow ....... who pizzed in your cheerios???? When the hell did I ever criticize a single person for their accomplishment????? And when do I rain on people's parades? If you've got a beef with me on something, send a PM and work it out. No one did anything to my cheerios...btw, it is commonly "Corn Flakes" that are pizzed in. It was not a personal attack so why would I PM you????? I was responding to your opinion that you voiced in the forums! I don't know why you would take my response as an attack or think I may have a beef with you??? Have I ever told someone that they shouldn't get a tattoo? Resounding "No." Why should I give an F if someone wants to ink themselves?? It's their body and their way to celebrate. If you look at your above comments, you noted that "Considering there is only ONE true Ironman each year (which is the winner of Kona) then NO ONE should be putting it on themselves unless their name is Macca, Stadler, Reed, Scott, etc. etc. ........ " Am i missing something? Have you ever told anyone not to get a tattoo? Uhhh yeah. My post was in jest in that the original definition of the "Ironman" was winner of the race AS DEFINED BY THE PEOPLE WHO CAME UP WITH THE CONCEPT. And sorry if you think that is opinion, feel free to believe that. But it IS fact. That has nothing to do at all with whether or not someone is deserving of getting a tattoo. Never disputed this "fact" with you, I was disputing the fact that YOU thought that...if you are jesting please use the sarc font, I'm not bright enough to figure stuff out like that. :P For someone else to criticize whether or not someone should get a tat is like telling someone they should or should not go out for a beer after a successful race. It's just f-cking ludicrous. I don't know, perhaps your opinion of me is clouded causing you to not understand what "" means. Rather than call you unjust names or bad mouth you for petty bullsh-t I'll just leave it at that ...... So after all this do we know what your stance is on this matter? I'm so confused...and petty...wait...petty??!! I don't have an opinion of you Daremo, I don't know you...just of you...why don't you sum up all the names you wanted to call me and PM them to me? I sit here wondering how this has gotten to this point...are you really that angry at me or is it just a big build up to your up coming race or it this really what your personality is all about? My "petty bullsh-t" not withstanding, I would rather pick a stronger topic such as politics, religion or sheep cloning to get into a heated debate with you...have a nice day Going for a run now, can't wait to see the responses.... :P
Yawn ...... done yet? Go read the thread NL posted on the topic and you'll get my opinion on the topic if you really want. To sum up since you won't bother probably? [Drum roll] Who cares what someone else thinks about whether or not they want to get a tat after any event in their life. It is their body and their choice. No one else's opinion matters. I've thought about it, but not a straight M-Dot, but some cool design incoportating it .... for me however, that reward will not come until after I personally KQ and finish Kona. Everyone else, have at it to your hearts desire! |

At least then my skin will already be all wrinkly so getting a tat on it won't be like someone who gets one when they are 18 and THEN get all old and wrinkly. |

Expert 657 Portland | Subject: RE: Ironman tattoo's? I wanted to get tattoos of bloodshot eyes on the end of my dink, but as soon as the tattoo artist touched it with the needle the pain was too much to handle and I had to stop. Now I have one red dot where the tattoo was going to be. I would post a picture, but jeepfleeb would only pull the thread immediately. |
