Comments:

First biathlon of the year; SECOND BIATHLON EVER.
Run was nice ... but I'm still figuring myself out as far as racing. Didn't want to shoot right out of the box at a stiff gallup only to die later in the ride or second run. So I did what I know how to do .. I just ran my race.

What would you do differently?:

Need more road time training instead of in the gym, but seeing how I have to borrow a bike for the time being that gets a bit difficult. I'll be investing in a road bike soon though.

Event comments:

This was a awesome course, and more importantly was for a good cause. There's nothing better than being able to give back - even if it's a little bit.

The Bag Piper on the 2nd run brought it all together. I was very focused on myself right up until I heard the pipes ... then I remembered why I really signed up for this race.

Course: Beautiful ride. Dug Hill section was unbelievable - unbelievably steep. Couldn't gear down to "Granny gear" (not that I wanted to be in granny, I just had to at that point). Ended up walking the last 100 feet of the steepest section - and I'm OK with that! Next year I'll make it in one shot on the saddle.
