My stay-at-home wife keeps telling me she is worth $1M, so is here self-assessed value of $1,000,000 per year taxable?

Oh yeah, you said, net value -- er, she is worthless.

P.S. Don't jump on me, just messn' with ya woogie. My wife is worth her weight in oil.

D_M_S - 2008-05-19 1:52 PM Please convert to USD at the current rates.

You're asking quite a bit of our non-USD-using friends to do, just so they can check a radio button in a poll. Just struck me as funny, that's all.

I think Cdn and US are still at par

I'm not quite following... too many references to too many different things in that post.  Are you saying that people with lower-than-middle-class incomes could afford to do tris if they gave up Starbucks, filling up the truck, monthly wine, eating copious amounts, and smoking?

Just not following.

P.S.  WITW is "Blenders in the Grass?"

Dude, I think you should stick to being the resident BT Chirunner intepreter and sub-contract out any future interpretation duties.

Wow, this poll makes me feel very poor.

Same here, until I realize I'm single and most of the people on here have 2 incomes in their household.

There are some money making SOB's here.  The nice thing about my job is that comission can add up very quickly, the downside is that my base is horrible, so I need the comission.  The Mrs. is looking for a new job, so hopefully she can find one that would move us up a notch.

But I also don't have the benefit of spousal income.

Word.
2 incomes would be NICE.
All though, if you are both triathletes, is it a wash?

Nah, I spend alot more on Tri stuff than my wife does

wow, over 60% in this highly non-scientific poll make $90,000+

Advertisers would be wise to hit the tri scene harder me thinks

 Some have made that realization.......

My point is every hobby is expensive, I don't see this one as being more than others unless you want it to be.

And since every American, and Western European, and Canadian, and so on........ spends more on crap that is basically empty calories than they do on tris, or other hobbies, the argument about this being an expensive sport is ungrounded.

Go back to the nonfat//soy/decaf/half foam/chi latte and enjoy your day.

Wow, household income in the U.S. is skewed to the right but at B.T. it is skewed to the left. Something is not right with this group...

No nothing wrong with this group. Just that your looking at a selective group. We have money to afford transportation to our sport, we have time to invest in not only doing, but training and hanging out on an internet forum. We have access to a computer and internet forum on a nearly daily basis.

Those criteria alone will give you a fairly skewed Income level.
