Swim
Comments: Better performance in the swim; got to the outside and shot a line to the buoy. What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 1
Comments: Could have gotten into my shoes a little smoother. Need to work on using the string to set up my shoes. Fastest in my age group and one of the fastest overall. What would you do differently?: Stringing up shoes. Bike
Comments: Not a bad ride; was a little weary from swim and not training enough over the last month due to back medical issue Transition 2
Comments: Had lady stop right in front of me about 15 yards before dismount line; caused me to hit brakes and jump off pedal early; bike was up on front tire with rear wheel above front wheel; lost one shoe and had to go back and get it; was a little upset; rest of transition was good; 5th fastest in age group What would you do differently?: Lose the socks!!! Train to go without the socks for these short runs. Run
Comments: Not too bad a run; Was darn hot, ended up setting high temp records for the day, little to no breeze Post race
Warm down: Walked, stretched and drank water and Gatorade, ate banana and 2/3 of a muffin What limited your ability to perform faster: Training due to medical issue; kept me out of the pool and off the road and bike for 3 weeks Event comments: Well marked and staffed course. Organizers accelerated the start times as performance was good amoungst competitors. Will try the Olympic next year. Last updated: 2007-11-12 12:00 AM

Set up transition from 4:30 am through 5:00 am, got body marked and picked up chip. Ate one power bar and drank water within 20 minutes of start. Used restroom several times. Grabbed a towel and laid out out for the long wait after we were ejected from transition at 5:45 until our race start at 7:30.
Stretched, swam for 5 minutes
