Any info or guesses on what the water temp at Walden Pond is now?  Our team has its first OWS practice this Saturday morning.

Silver Lake was 62 °F this morning.  Walden is bigger/deeper, therefore colder.  My guess is high 50s.

I went this morning, along with a HUGE pack of others, and I (and the others in my group, so I'm not a freak) thought it was actually quite comfortable. I did have on my neoprene swim cap, which keeps me crazy warm, but my hands were fine. My feet were a *little* cold by the end, but really not bad at all. It was gorgeous!

I will be out there sunday afternoon....

I'm going to swim with my wetsuite for the first time today at Walden Pond and wanted to know if any of you think it will be too cold to not have my feet or hands covered. I also only have a regular swim cap. Will it be too cold? Anyone, thanks.

Well, hopefully it went well, but you should have been totally fine without booties/mittens/regular swim cap!

I'm interested in hooking up with some group swims out at Walden or finding a training partner who would be interested in a couple swims per week, approx 1 mi in length. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

I'm probably going to start heading out for the regular weekend workouts again soon.  Not this weekend (Moooooooseman!), but probably the weekend after.

Do you guys wear the wetsuit for the weekend swims? I'd like to but I also don't want to look like a dope.

all the triathletes wear wetsuits - and every time I have brought the kids there this year there are others, not just me!

I am all up for weekend walden pond swims! I would even consider a monday after work walden swim....

I've been swimming there twice or three times a week the last couple weeks.  Usually an evening or morning workout on Thursday, a morning on Saturday, then a recovery swim on Monday and/or Friday.

Honestly, it's all I can do to drag myself to the pool on Tuesday for non-wet-suit sets (good for form, I keep telling myself) - even though the pool is outside now that the bubble is down.

Went last night and tried without the wetsuit.  Had numb toes, a numb heel and a few numb fingers (and lots of blue!) by the time I got out.  On a warm day, probably not a problem, but on a cool evening, the wet-suit is a good idea even from a safety standpoint (IMO, but that's me).

I'm game for some Walden swims - also starting next week (going to Ohio this weekend).

Matt
