Comments:

A couple of guys in the lane had put down incorrect swim times. I was sad enough to search these guys previous form and they are both experienced triathletes so they are just deliberately putting down a faster time in the hope of getting a tow. Does piss me off.
Apart from getting blocked for probably a total of 5 length the swim was good. Sat on Joanne rfom my clubs toes for about 4 lengths before taking a turn at the front. Quite a big run from the pool exit before getting into T1. Jo overtook me during this run.
What would you do differently?:

Very tempted to bring the issue of false swim times up with the tri associations/referees. How is it that you are not allowed to draft in the bike but in the swim you are allowed to actually block someone.

Overtook Jo through T1. A theme is starting to develop to this race.

Comments:

Hill at the start of the lap (4 lap race). Each time I had a bit of a fight to get the chain to go back onto the big ring. Jo overtook me on the first hill. She opened up a bit of a gap but at the end of each lap there is a series of tight turns and at these I managed to close up on her each time. At the end of lap 3, 3 guys came out of t1 and wiggled right across my line so that I had to break almost to a standstill to avoid a crash. I shouted out to them that they were supposed to give way to oncoming bikes, one of them told me to f*** off. If I could have worked out which one it was I would have got this guy DQ'd.
What would you do differently?:

Raced really ard to keep in touch with Jo. So ride wise nothing differently. Definitely would have got the guys number.
Transition 2

Comments:

Flew through T2 and managed to pass Jo again

Comments:

Bust a gut trying to keep up with Jo. So much so that after about 2k the run passes back near the start line and I thought it was the end of the run. After this I blew up a bit and just kept on plodding.
What would you do differently?:

Glad I gave it a go. Happy with my time so nothing different.

Event comments:

The race was an afternoon start which is unusual. Hell of a long wait though between racking your bike and the off time.
