Subject: I can't count
I'm doing the 20-week beginner plan for my second HIM, and somehow I got 1 week ahead in the training. I'm finishing a recovery week now and am not sure how to fill the extra week. Should I go back and repeat a high volume week or fill it with a lower volume week similar to the weeks remaining in the program? Any advice would be helpful.

If it were me, and it sounds like something I could easily do, I'd do the next week twice. Did you do the recovery week a week early (2 build weeks instead of 3) or did you just start it a week early?

Keep the taper at 2 weeks and repeat your favorite week. I liked week 7 personally, but on Sunday I did a 56 mile bike instead of run/bike/run brick.

Wait-- I might have read what you said wrong. Are you finishing week 2 heading into week 1 with two weeks before the race? Er.... I dunno what to do then. Perhaps 3-4 days of increased intensity or volume followed by a 10-11 day taper? It is your second HIM after all.
