Swim
Comments: Not my most stellar swim, but I think the SHALLOW beginning and having to run out of the water for the 2nd loop and deal with that shallow/ run start junk slowed me down. Transition 1
Comments: FASTEST T1 including EVERYONE - pros, men and all :) Makes me feel good :) What would you do differently?: Nothing - KISS :) Bike
Comments: WOW, it was hard to push the 2nd half of this bike course with the incredible tail wind. I was constantly over 25mph on the 2nd half so hard to keep motivation to push. My legs were tired from the week, so I jsut leveled off at 200 watts for the 2nd half. Ended up getting smoked by one girl, but no one passed me - except for KiloDave!!! GO DAVE! What would you do differently?: Push harder if I had the legs. HAve a bigger gear on my bike! Transition 2
Comments: Once I got my bike racked, I was fine... BUT I tried to rack it front wheel in at first and that didn't work.. Oh well, still not bad What would you do differently?: just rack it right the first time :) Run
Comments: WOW, could I be becoming a runner?? No, not really?? My Garmin was dead, so I tossed it in transition (OK just outside of T2, but don't tell anyone!). I just went out to run fast, but not too hard. Started with a good cadence and picked of a few people right away. Legs felt good, so I just went with it. Finished the first lap in 22:15 - WHAT?!!?! SMOKIN!!! Caught lots of people and flashed by most of them. NOt a single person passed me on the run - not even any guys! What would you do differently?: Finish with a kick. I didn't bother, but if I had, I would have PR'd this run. HOLY BATSHOES! Post race
Warm down: jogged to get my Garmin :) Then enjoyed the post race and went home for a nap. What limited your ability to perform faster: training week. Event comments: Good race venue and good concept. BUT they needed a better "water" station on the bike. It turned out to be joint juice with a screw on top rather than water in a squeeze bottle as we were told it would be. Also, on the run, they didn't have the transition exit aid station set up until my 2nd lap - and since I didn't get hte water on the bike I really wanted it on the run! But I managed. Also, the course could have been marked better and they could have had more/ older volunteers to direct traffic. All in all good race though! Last updated: 2008-05-23 12:00 AM
