Yeah not too excited about the cold of the water...I don't think we will escape it. Wetsuits are a must I think if you have one!

Nope no wetsuit.... got a pre-race e-mail, Trisport said that they will have the water temperature posted tomorrow afternoon. I went out to Guelph Lake and rode the bike course, I almost ran into a deer!!!! S/he would not move out of the middle of the road. LOL... DNF due to deer crash............. that would be funny.

Can't say I've heard that one before! Maybe Subaru needs signs posted "Racers beware of crossing deer"!

Water temp is posted on their website 17 c which is only around 63 degrees F. Tad chilly! But air is to be 25 or so with a humidex of 31. Pray the rain holds off. Don't mind swimming or running in rain (rather like running in it!) but biking not too thrilled about the rain.
Best of luck!

What distance are you and others doing this weekend?

I did the Tri - a - Tri. The weather was perfect, the water was just right and I am very satisfied with my results. How did everyone do?

The water was great but I did wear the wetsuit afterall. Glad I did. The weather was looking so unpredictable but it turned out fine for the race and awards after. We were just heading home when the dark skies, thunder and lightning started. Great timing. It was a good race. Now until the next one.........what's everyone's next race?

Hi everyone. I also did the TAT at GL1. I was in the last wave to go so I got to watch all the previous waves go. What an awesome sight. I liked the weather that day. Not nearly as hot as at Lakeside. My times would have been a lot better too except I had a couple of mishaps on the bike leg.

My next race is going to be the sprint at Owen Sound in August. Anyone else going to be there? I have heard that a wetsuit is pretty much a must there.

Happy Canada Day all! Did a great brick workout this morning...alittle windy on the bike but nice anyway to have a day with little traffic to get a ride in.

I'm also going to be doing the sprint in August in Owen Sound. Definitely a wet suit event. Last year I had planned to do the sprint but I had an injury in July and couldn't do it. My little one did the KOS but they changed it to a duathlon due to the water temps being so cold. This was August as well so I agree the waters will likely be very chilly again.

Anyone doing Gravenhurst off the Steamships in July? Supposed to be something.......I registered early because I had heard it sells out quickly. It is now full I think for the sprint and maybe too the olympic.

Maybe we'll run into each other in Owen Sound. ( not literally though
I think my first oly will be next year. I am hoping to get a 70.3 in next year also. Those will be my A races for 2009
