Hey, team two.

Thanks to my not naming the voting thread, I thought I'd make this one a little more visible.

Looks like we've got two front-running names right now: the Dragon Slayers, and the Gutless Wonders. Let's hear who likes which, and while we're at it, let's hear how your weekend went.

Grant

I like Dragon Slayers.  And I need to amend my starting weight.  Monday night, after getting home from vacation, I was at 245 (6 pound gain).  Thursday (my usualy weigh in day) I was 242.  So I've got three less already

My weekend rocked.  Saturday morning I hooked up with triathletes from my masters swim class that ride every Saturday morning.  Not only did I score an invite to the weekly ride (need pedals/shoes first, and the cojones to keep up with them), I did a double spin class with them since it was storming outside, then went right to the treadmill and did two miles.   That's HUGE for me, since I couldn't run a mile a few short weeks ago (doing couch to 5K).  The 2 miles wasn't easy, but it didn't kill me.  1:45 on the bike followed by :21 on the treadmill.  Not only were my legs absolute toast, I was absolutely soaked from head to toe.  Food?  Saturday is my freed ay, so no comment :-)

Yesterday I got in the pool and did 3000 yards in the rain.

the best part about both workouts - the jacuzzi afterwards.(non tri related - saw the Aviator Saturday, pretty good, but loooong,. movie, DiCaprio surprisingly good)

I second Dragon Slayers.  I'm really looking forward to starting this again.  I've been really, REALLY bad with the M&M's and Mary Janes lately.

Weekend was good.   Raced in the Disney Family Run with my 9 year old son and 5 year old daughter.  My son finished his first 5K (in 38 minutes) , and my daughter won second in her age group!  :-)

I also like dragon slayers. My week-end was pretty good workout wise. I ran a 10K sat and took 2 min off my PB, good trainer workout on my bike on Sunday. Trying to be good with food, I've banned my husband from bringing ice cream into the house (unless it's a flavor I don't like) Was supposed to start back in the pool tonight, but the schedule got changed. It will be a run and a swim after work for me tomorrow.

Dragon Slayers for me.

Lessee... the weekend... I had a nice three mile tempo run on Saturday... missed the swim I was planning on, but that's okay. Hit a new low of 189lbs., bought new dress slacks two sizes smaller than the bulk of my stash, and the best part... got to ride bicycles with my daughter for the first time!! She finally got the courage to ride all by herself, so we played tag... (see my post here )

All in all, a great time!

Now, I'm off to put the twins in bed and hop on the trainer for a Spinervals session... Tomorrow AM is a long run!

Dragon Slayers is my vote. So, I'll break streak we had going with this thread. I didn't do anything workout wise this weekend. Found out end of last week that my wife is pregnant with baby # 2. My daughter is 3. We were both planning on doing a tri this summer. It's now on hold for one of us. I was planning on doing an Oly with my brother from New Hampshire but I think I'll have to settle for a sprint distance this year. The reason being my wife had hyperemesis during the pregnancy last time. For the guys reading this is morning sickness on steroids!!! She was hospitalized five times throughout the pregnancy.
Don't get me wrong I'm(We are) totally pumped to have another child. My 3 yr. old is the best thing that's ever happenned to me(other than marrying my wife). She's turning out so well we decided we should try and have another child. As they say,"Be careful what you wish for!" She's approx 6-7 weeks pregnant. She's had nausea all weekend but luckily no vomiting as of yet. Meds are a wonderful thing!!!
So i'm planning on doing what I can do when I can but I won't let the team down as far as the weight loss goes. The best part is she hates the taste of chocolate now so I now have a reason to not buy it!!! Good Luck to everyone on TEAM TWO!!! I wish you luck if you're on Team one as well, just not as much. Chris

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

That is SOOOOO COOOL!

I will tell you this, though... when you have the second child, God does his best Monty Python impression and says, "And now for something COMPLETELY DIFFERENT!!"

My twins, though born only seconds apart and exposed to essentially the same environment for the last four years are so different you'd think they are not the same species! Still I wouldn't trade either one of them for the world.

I wish your wife the best with the nausea and everything else that goes with pregnancy, and you as well by her side. Sounds like you're in for an interesting year!!!

You will, of course, keep us posted, right??

:-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

Thanks for the good thoughts. The Monty Python thing is what keeps me up at night!!! My daughter is so good(most of the time) that with my luck "Devil Child" is on the way. Either way it's defintely a good thing. I think my new middle name will be "Flexibilty" as far as the training goes. Chris

HA HA!

You'll be fine. Just don't make the mistake of thinking that ANYTHING that worked with Kid #1 will necessarily work with Kid #2. Ya gotta start all over again from scratch! :-)

At least your daughter will be old enough to "help" with the baby... :-)

I will 2nd the congrats, er. Nothing in life quite so exciting as a new little bambino getting thrown into the mix!

And don't worry, I'm sure you'll burn plenty of calories running out to buy ice cream and pickles and such things for your wife when she's craving.

Dragon Slayers for me too. I was bad this weekend because I had company in from out of state. I ate pretty well, but didn't get in a single workout (unless you count walking through the airport and we went to the mall).
Anyway, plan on getting back into it tonight and will let you know the results.
As of right now I am still at 153 lbs. No change.

I have to go for Gutless Wonders despite all the other votes.

This weekend was pretty good, though my weekend ice cream indulgence rolled over into Monday. Had a great ride on the trainer and a killer swim Saturday and Sunday. And though I had ice cream last night (finished it so there's nothing else for the rest of the week), I avoided eating any of the M&M's or Baby Ruth's sitting out here at work.

Hey, Amanda. I'm with you on the Gutless Wonders. I think we're definitely on the minority side, though.

I had my first swimming lesson last night since I was about 5 years old, and swam about 1200 m. On Sunday I ran almost a 9 miler, and on Saturday I ran 5k before my hockey game. I'm just hoping I can keep up the pace. Down another 1.5 lbs, so I'm almost back to my November weight now.

Mark me down for Dragon Slayers. This past weekend was busy, had my niece over for the first time in a long while, so that was fun. 5k race on Sunday. Things aren't slowing down though and it's Tuesday already

I vote for Dragon Slayers. (Thanks Gina)

Does anyone know how this contest works? When and how are we reporting our weight? What is the time frame we are working within?
Maybe someone has already spelled this out, but some how I missed it.

Dragon Slayers for me!

My weekend was good and bad. Went skiing on Saturday which was good, but missed my swimming and ate crappy ski-lodge food. Still lost a pound though!

I vote for Dragon Slayers.

The weigh in day is Friday. I will post a new thread and everyone can report in all day Friday.

How is everyone doing? I'm down 5.2 pounds...I weigh every day. When I ride my trainer I tend to see results. I'm up to riding an hour at a time.

I'd say the Dragon Slayers have it by a landslide then, folks. Shall we make it official?
