Comet just gained 2 lbs reading about it!!!!! I love Enders Pigging out: "I had a grape and a slice of turkey" "Oops, That was 2 grapes" she is suck a pig!!!! I stick my tongue out at you. Quick somebody through a slice of pizza on her tongue!!! I meant "throw", Shows the mentality I had tonight with yoga, not concentrating at all. I could only do about 45 min. For some reason I was just really uncomfortable, impatient, and didn't want to sit through all the crap while tony kept talking instead of starting the timers for each pose. I did get through the moving vinyasas (by the skin of my teeth) which is also the hardest part of the routine. And I'm skipping my run. I'm having a surge in the brain where I just want to go eat something... HELP ME!!!!! I know I have to be up early tomorrow for the funural, and not sure if I skip the comfort food, that I'll do ok at the theaters... Does anybody ever get that way??? Like you just need that shot of Serotonin from a full stomach? I was debating on opening a bottle of wine, but said to myself sternly, NO!. I want some ramen noodle soup, but said NO!, I think I'm going to go eat an orange and maybe some almonds, with water. Not sure if that will fill me up, but at least it'll cure the urge to keep my jaw muscles moving... I was fighting the urge to eat a couple of frozen burritos today too, so I just stayed away from the freezer. I knew that if I started looking for them, it would be a search and destroy mission... ;( Just mentally, not in a happy place right now, and I don't want to go eat! (but I do). |

Will let you all know if this even pans out. Second, was--> now that I've successfully reintegrated a running routine, I'm thinking about kicking it up a notch. Next wk, at least 4 sessions (instead of 1.4 mi, make them 2.8 mi or 2 laps). What are the teams thoughts??? |

Champion 5807 Henderson NV | Subject: RE: TEAM SKINNY (June 08) A mid year New Beginning Definitely extend runs a little. 1 short, 1 med. and 1 long. Right now maybe a 1 lap, 2 lap and then a 3 lap long run. Long run should be the slowest just to get in some distance at this point. |

Champion 5807 Henderson NV | Subject: RE: TEAM SKINNY (June 08) A mid year New Beginning Mens Health tips on how to stop cravings. 1. Drink up. Often we interpret as hunger what's really thirst in disguise. Make it a rule to reach for a glass of ice water every time you feel hungry; you'll be surprised how much less you'll wind up eating. 2. Pinch yourself. Specifically, your nostrils or earlobes for 10 seconds. The craving will pass. These are acupressure points, which means that how this works is an ancient Chinese secret. But trust me, it does. 3. Use 100-watt lightbulbs. Brighter is better in the dining room, or on the couch if you tend to munch in front of the TV. Dim lights lower inhibitions of all kinds, whether you're making a move on Debbie or Little Debbie. 4. Negotiate over coffee. You're more apt to munch mindlessly during intense discussions. If you're going to break up with her, do it over a salad. If you're negotiating a big deal, wait until the dinner is finished. 5. Keep your hands to yourself. Manufacturers know that your chances of purchasing a product rise exponentially once you touch it. That's why the worse a food is for you, the more likely it comes in a cool, colorful package. Next time you're at the market, make a mental note not to touch anything in the junk-food aisles. 6. Think healthy, not thin. Many people become more successful at long-term weight loss once their motive shifts from wanting to be thinner to wanting to be healthier. --By Marc Salem. Elite 3519 San Jose, CA | Subject: RE: TEAM SKINNY (June 08) A mid year New Beginning Josh, I hope you are doing better today! I had to take Rickey to have an endoscopy, as a follow up to being hospitalized a couple months ago. It has been a nerve racking 3 weeks, they informed us there was a slight chance he had stomach cancer. So today was the day they went in looking for it. I have happy to report that there is no cancer...and the bleeding ulcers he had (original reason for hospitalization) have completely healed...So big sigh of relief here...Food wise I am holding strong. but for some reason, I always feel hungrier when I am at home then when I am at work. odd! So far today: Breakfast - 1 protein shake Snack - 1 string cheese and some roasted pumpkin seeds Lunch - 2 slices low fat bologna and 2 slices swice chees and sugar free jello

Have any of you skinnies tried anything other than the Morningstar and Boca products? The trick is, don't think of it as a meat substitute...just try the product with an open mind. I have not found anything that tastes like meat...but I have found lots of things that I actually really like the taste off...Most of them Morningstar. But I was never a red meat fan, so for me the alternative just tasted better. Sorry I couldn't help |

Elite 3020 Bay Area, CA | Subject: RE: TEAM SKINNY (June 08) A mid year New Beginning Runningwoof - glad Rickey is ok. Cancer is scary. Both of my parents had it (my Mom still does - it's a chronic form, my Dad was cured) and that worry is always in the back of my mind about her and her health. As for me, MAJOR food binge yesterday for some reason (I think cause the scale didn't show me a # that I liked.) I'm seriously thinking that I will NOT weigh in for the entire month of July. What did I eat? A better question might be what I didn't. Started off with an iced mocha, in the middle somewhere were a couple of chocolate candy bars and about 10 See's chocolates (yes, I went into the store, picked them out and then ATE THEM ALL), and a burrito approximately the size of my head. I didn't actually finish the burrito which is probably a good thing, and I resisted going out and buying a pint of Ben and Jerry's at midnight just to polish off my day, but man, WTH was that? I'm not going to calculate the amount of calories and You Can't Make Me. I don't want to know. |

Have any of you skinnies tried anything other than the Morningstar and Boca products? Well, might I suggest tofu? I know, I get amazing amounts of grief from coworkers but truly, if you find some great recipes, and cook with it well, it can be really really tasty. I generally buy the "extra firm" and you can find some interesting stuff online to try. One key is to make sure you get all the water out, I put it btwn paper towels and soak it out. And of course what you don't use, store in a tub with water....... The other added bonus is it's amazingly cheap! Edited by travljini 2008-06-28 5:11 AM |
