At this point in the year which is a better swim?  I'm thinking about temperature, easy distance mapping, accessibility, and the like.  Any opinions?

I'm planning on doing a swim/ride brick this coming weekend if others would like to join.

Cranberry's pond is much much warmer as it is very shallow and small so it warms up faster. I would guess it could be easily 8-10 degrees warmer this time of year than Walden.

I'm swimming there tomorrow around 10:30-10:45 if you are interested in joining us.

Cranberry I measure using the route tracker here on BT. I just swim all the way to the end and back. I'll look up my route. It is about 650 yards if you go from little beach on right all the way across the pond and back would make it 1300 yds. In the tri they have you swim along the edge of the circular part on the far end and stay to the far edges of the pond. When I swim I work on sighting and going straight to I swim straight across and back.

I am looking for others to swim with but I do mostly during the week when most folks work. This next weekend I can't swim but I'll look at following weekends. I'm working towards swimming 60-90 minutes.

Thanks Kathy.  8-10 degrees sounds nice.  I just officially signed up for Cranberry.  It looks like from the race map  if you just skirt the whole outside of the pond it gets you to .8 or .9 miles.  I'll likely skip Walden then and just swim and ride the Cranberry course this weekend.  Maybe I'll see some of you there!

Excellent.  I'm really excited to check out the course.  Would I be an idiot if I got overzealous and just did the whole Oly for fun?  i wouldn't try to go fast just stretch it out.  Hyannis sure would seem easy!

Follow the directions to the park which is huge with a number of parking lots if you go to the Cranberry website.

Simple Directions if you come south on 18 from 495 it is the first driveway/entrance past the Police Station.

If you see the horseshoe pits and face the pond I swim from the swim start on right side.
