Pre-race routine:

Up extra early 3:45am with baby who still has fever from chicken pox. Showered/Shaved & had Go Juice- 3 Scoops Met 2, 1/4 Cup Ground Flaxseed = 590.9 Cals, Percentages= 49.62% Carbs, 23.42 % Pro, 26.96 % Fat.
Dressed and boogied to event site by 5:10am by which there was already a steady line of cars. Saw my boss's, boss's, boss's, boss's, boss on way to Packet, got Packet and was getting bike off rack when cousin Alison called & was pulling in. Found her, and chatted, then back to car and got ready.
Event warmup:

None... just took off easy. It was 48 degrees at the start 76 at finish, but I just went with SS euro-multicolor Jersey with Craft undershirt and was comfy, let Ali use yellow Castelli Arm Warmers.

Comments:

Biked E-Rock 65-mile Course with Cousin Alison, and 7,000 other folks.
Challenging course, hilly both ways, and very windy from the South. Nice ride, stayed within myself, and more importantly, with Alison. Stopped at every Aid Station, Tried some Peanut Butter Crackers and found them excellent- salt, fat, sugar... delicious.
Ali's not a super-strong rider, but is great talkative company, very funny with folks, and she really made an effort. Would happily ride this with her again. Had lots of fun at the Expo but stayed too long, and in the sun too long.
What would you do differently?:

Got a little sunburned, need more sunscreen on neck & Calves, to re-apply at aid stations, and apply to new places after the ride if I change.
Post race
Warm down:

Eat, Expo, very little stretching. Nice cold refreshing first beer at Expo, nasty warm 2nd beer and too long in the sun at Expo... no prizes won.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Enjoyed riding with Cousin Alison.

Event comments:

Enjoyed everything about this ride, except the construction just before Palmer Lake making the road into a deep gravel pit where lots of folks almost lost it.
