Pre-race routine:

Showed up at transition opening, setup transition area , picked up timing chip, checked out finish line, and warmed up.
Event warmup:

Swam for about 10 minutes and ran for about 5 minutes on the beach.

Comments:

Beach start was good, took the inside, but got hung up on the buoy rope rounding the corner. Didn't go all out wasn't sure what pace to go. Felt good though, swam over a couple people and accidently kicked some.
What would you do differently?:

Swim harder, try to start in the front of the pack.

Don't eat gu straight, started coughing and dry heaving after taking. Heavy snot. Felt strong though and maintained a good pace.

Faster and practice. Need tri shoes.

Need to be in better shape, had to walk a good portion of it. It was also high tide so I had to run a lot in the surf.

Be in better shape!!!!!! No Gu!!!

Walked along beach, jumped in water

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not being in better shape for the run and breaking rule number one, don't do anything in the race you haven't practiced. No GU!!!!

Event comments:

Very well organized except for high tide beach run. Fun event, would do it again, but be in better shape.
