Pre-race routine:

Oh boy oh boy were we obnoxious. Met up with 2 other members of "Team America" at a parking lot and got all dressed up, pinned bibs on, tied ribbons and bandannas before loading the bus. Sister did a good job taking pictures :) Oh the bus we added the team tatoos with a sharpie. Liz spelled team "teem" on my arm! Ah!
Event warmup:

Um, we didn't. Walked to the start and just marveled at all the people. Oh and the lady in her bathrobe in the apt building near the start.

Comments:

We did this for fun. Not in it to win it! 2 friends came from sea level so we basically ran their pace - but we did run the entire time and were yelling and cheering and having fun.
What would you do differently?:

Not a thing! Well, maybe invite more friends :)

Warm down:

mmm. it was COLD and rainy by the time we finished. Met up with the boys and Sister who was carrying all our crap. Drank a beer and ate pizza.

Event comments:

This race is so much fun. 53,000 runners and the race announcer said it was the largest Memorial Day celebration in the country. We all wore back bibs - mine had names of classmates and comrades who were killed in action in either Iraq or Afghanistan. Unfortunately, I had 6 names. M ran in honor of Grandpa. M2 ran for her boyfriend currently serving in Iraq. "Be Thou At Peace"
