Hey how is everyone doing?  Looking forward to racing Saturday.

What are the goals out there?  I have an ambitious one - to not be passed by anyone in the wave behind me!!!!!  With a 9:30 head start, that could be a challenge with all those fast 40-44 folks back there.

Good luck with the race!  I did it last year - it's flat & fast, especially on the run.  (Won't be there this year due to injuries).

There are definitely some speedy people in the 40-44 AG.  Last year I was just better than top half overall but 17/22 in that AG.

Dills: Are you still in the 40-44 year old age group? I thought you graduated! LOL

I'm in and I'm fit, healthy and ready!

Sub 6's on the run? Maybe!
25 mph bike? Maybe!

Beating up on Dills! Uh, maybe!

Dime and Dillard are going to make it really tough to achieve my goals, as for Kilo_Dave, I at least want to start lap 2 of the second run before he finishes

Thanks for the kind words guys.  I don't like to make race predictions, but I will say one thing.  I'm ready to take a trip to the well.

If I was a betting man, I'd say based on Dave's recent bike split at his last race, he might just be the favorite and he might just crush the old guys...

BUT, Dills went toe to toe with Big D a month ago and he totally gave Dave an a$$ whoopin' so my money would go with the reigning kind, Dillard.

BUT, Dime, as always is the dark horse underdog and is pretty sure that he can put in a solid effort. This race is short, and although the run segment is only 5 miles, the bike segment is only 15 miles so there is not going to be that much room for anyone to break away. It will probably come down to transitions and that is where Dills has an advantage.

Odds on Favorite: Mark Dillard
Critics Choice: Dave Anderson
Dick Dime's Pick: Richard Paradis

Good luck in the well - I hope there is something left when you go there. However, you are a lean, mean, racing machine... I don't think you will need to even go there.

I'll leave you with this:

Life’s battles don’t always go the strongest or fastest man, But sooner or later the man who wins is the fellow who thinks he can.” – Steve Prefontaine

Dime, Thinks he can!

Me and the kids will be out cheering on Momma. We like to be just outside the bike start so we can watch everybody fumble with their attempted flying mounts and trying to clip in. It was great fun for the kids last time.

She placed 3rd Athena in her first multisport event at the Barking Dog so we have high hope for continued success. Its got to be nicer out than Barkin.

See you all Saturday and say hi to the two little kids when you fly by they will be cheering for you!

Results are in and the fat lady has wailed: Dime, Dave and Dills in that order.

See race report for details!
