The $1m will look cheap compared to the marketing value of Bos winning at the Olympics...

Velodrome racing?

Otherwise, what's the ruling on tri bikes having no brakes?

In sprinting, aero is about the LEAST of your concerns.

And I think the video is hilarious in how it says the bike is so special because it's a fixed gear and has no brakes... Yeah, it's a TRACK bike. DUH! But that certainly doesn't make it special.

Trust me, these Dutch guys know what they are doing and they won't reveal all their secrets. Don't forget that the Netherlands is the only country in the world which has more bikes than inhabitants.
Bos will win some gold medals, the question is how many.

I would ride faster too if I sat on a custom-sized carbon frame. I really want to know though, what is the ROI for each $10,000 spent on the bike in comparison to say a fully outfitted Felt DA for that rider?

*Knowing full well that a TT/Tri bike is different from a Track bike. Just curious about raw performance that spending an equivalent of 99 more top-of-the-line commercially available bikes gets you.

Yeah, I was laughing my arse off at that too, I can rig up an old Schwinn the same way for a couple hundred bucks. They also claimed it was the most aerodynamic bike on the planet, with it's big drop bars hanging down.

I'm sure they're inflating the costs to make the story more "sexy" for the press. The bike itself isn't $1M, it probably includes all that wind tunnel time and designer fees.

He'll still get smoked by the Brits probably ... they outright dominated most of the events at the WC a few months ago ......

Bike don't make the rider, rider makes the bike. Tongue out

I saw the bike and all I could think was "that drop would kill my back".
