I may do the 5430 sprint AND the 1/2 IM.  We'll have to get in touch closer to race time!  Good luck

I am in for the Boulder Peak.  This will be my 3rd time.  Great fun.  I got my wife and some of her gal friends to do the relay.

I'm doing the Boulder Peak Oly .

I was going to do the Harvest Moon 1/2IM cause Boulder long is too close for comfort.

Fort Collins - hmmm, hadn't heard about it. Sounds fun. I'm looking to do a tri in May. Will check it out.

I'm also doing an Oly in Las Vegas, New Mexico

Is the boulder peak registration open yet? I want to, but not on a mountain bike - I hear that course is killer. So, I need to cure my underemployment.....

Yes, you can register for the Peak!  www.5430sports.com

Ovetta, maybe I'll do the Harvest Moon race with you instead of the 5430 long course.

I'm doing the 5430 Sprint for sure, but I'll probably just volunteer at the Boulder Peak.  I've got a bunch of other stuff going on this summer, so I'm not going for longer than sprint distance (I'm the slacker in the group!!), but I'll be there to cheer y'all on!

I'm still not sure if I'm moving to FL or not, so I'm not getting my hopes up for participating in any one race. :-( I think I'll just get up to Oly distances and then take whatever's handy! Since this will be my first full season, what Oly's are good?

Boulder Peak ALWAYS fills up, but see how it goes. The only other oly I know of is Loveland lake to lake - but that's in Larimer Co, so who knows if it will happen?

Holy crap! I was just looking at the Boulder Peak's website. There's 15% grade on that course?!?!?! Whoa. Have you done it before? How long is that super steep section?

If you want to do an Oly there's not much choice in Colorado. Boulder Peak, Loveland Lake to Lake - which it seems they will have - Salida has a longer one with 1,000m swim, 25 mile and 6.2 miles but it looks like that's in a pool. Ugh.

That's why I'm doing an Oly in New Mexico. I figure two Olys, a 1/2IM, two sprints and a couple of Aurora's splash and dashes will do me good.

Ovetta.

Ovetta is the racing-ist woman I know!

I am in such flux - I may be moving out of state before racing season too, so I don't know if I will register.....

Yeah, I just saw that Salida one and got all excited until I saw it was in a pool. Ick. Pool swimming is soooo dull. Of course, OW still scares the heck out of me, but it's not dull! LOL! How the heck do you keep track of laps in an Oly anyhow... do they have counters like in long swimming races?

Yep, definitely check in before race time and we'll all meet up!

Kim, yes Boulder Peak has a 15% grade on the bike course.  The up hill is killer, and the downhill.....well, let's just say people go >50 mph down the backside.  and then there's a 90 degree turn at the bottom with an ambulance that hangs out there.

If anyone is doing the Peak, I suggest pre-riding the course.  Old Stage Rd - you go west on Lee hill Rd from rt 36 and you'll find it.  Maybe we can do it together?

I posted this in the group forum, but the Atlanta people seem to have taken over that forum.  I'm doing a running race on 2/6 in Boulder - cheap $5!  Choose from 5K, 10 mi, or 20 mi.  Let me know if anyone wants to go!

If you ride the Boulder Peak course ahead of the race, let me know - I'd like to try it out too, even though I'm not doing the race this year =)

I'll check out the post under group training - I need some running races to keep me motivated!

That steep grade would be Olde Stage Coach road. It is about 1/2 or less, probably more like 1/4 mile. Yes it is steep. Many people are seen walking it. It is the smallest gear you can find, standing on your pedals, slow, grind. If you do some hills in your training you will be fine. It is a very fun race with lots of people there!

Well. Maybe the Boulder peak tri will NOT be one of the races I do this summer! Not sure i'd make that uphill, or the downhill for that matter!

Being from Aurora I will probably stay in the 'hood. Since I am new to endurance I will run the Bolder Boulder on Memorial Day.

6/12 My Way Sprint at Aurora Res
8/28 Rattlesnake Sprint at Aurora Res

I might try to squeeze in the Boulder Olympic in July.

Hope some of you join me in the south end of town!

6/11 - Big Sky Duathlon

8/28 - tentatively - Rattlesnake Duathlon

9/11 - Fall Frenzy Duathlon, or maybe the Tri if I can work some swimming in.

I'm in the same boat, though, of wanting to keep close to home in Centennial.

I just signed up for the Ft Collins 1/2 Marathon on May 8th. That would be great training to go ahead and do the Ft. Collins Sprint Tri on May 22nd.

I really want to do an OLY this year. If my training stays on scheduld maybe I can pull off a 1/2 IM.

Looking forward to a great year.

I just took a look at the Boulder series. I would love to do an OLY and 1/2 IM but 2 weeks in between seem short doesn't it? Especially since both will be the hardest things I've ever done. I guess I can just hope and train.
