May's totals:
Bike:26h 55m 06s - 458.47 Mi
Run:18h 26m 24s - 126.35 Mi
Swim:13h 24m 24s - 38473 Yd
Inversion Table:2h 05m

Decent month training for IMLP. Actually would have been a bit more of all 3 save a HIM recovery, some A.R.T sessions and rest to cure my ailing back. I think I lead the league in hanging upside down tho

May turned out to be a pretty good month all around. My shoulder was 100% Recovered back in February but this month I felt like all of my strength has been regained and I no longer find myself thinking about it during my workouts:

May's totals:
Bike:38h 58m 42s - 791 Mi
Run:37h 51m 39s - 314.21 Mi
Swim:10h 26m 50s - 39018.42 Yd

I am training for Ironman CdA on June 22nd. I did one tuneup race this month and placed 3rd in my AG.

Now it's taper time and the month of June is gonna be a lot lower.

314Mi run and 791Mi bike is really impressive.

I do around 320Mi running when I prepare a marathon for my PB but no bike at all in that case!

How many hrs per week totale volume in average in May for you?

With 31 days in May, that works out to about 19.7 hrs per week.

How many hrs per week totale volume in average in May for you?

Here is what the last 5 weeks of training looks like:

Week 5: 14h 46m (Cutback Week)
Week 6: 19h 07m
Week 7: 19h 15m
Week 8: 21h 33m
Week 9: 21h 14m

My run distance (Between 70 and 75 MPW) is very sustainable for me mostly because I came from from 100 MPW late last year during marathon training.

The Bike distance is more then planned because I added an extra 100+ mile ride to the month. (Moved it from June 1st to May 31st due to scheduling constraints) About half my bike volume is in 5 long rides.

The swim distance is actually a bit short of what I had hoped. Had some water quality issues due to storm runoff in the middle of the month and had to bag a few workouts.

100MPW running means some bi-daily sessions, isn't it? Did you notice some improvements due to bi-daily sessions?

I ran more (timewise, not distance) than Rick:

May's totals:

Run:9h 27m 51s  - 55.04 Mi

In fact, that's my highest monthly total in a year.

Bike and swim were pathetic.

For me, anything beyond about 80 to 85 miles per week almost demands Two-A-Days more due to scheduling then anything else to be sustainable. I fell into a regular schedule that include 3 doubles per week.  The biggest benefit from doing doubles for me was teaching the body to recover on timeframes shorter then 24 hours.

I have been able to hit 90 MPW all on singles, but that is not sustainable. As I continue to get faster, it might be possible to pull off what many of my marathoner friends do and regularly run 90+ mile weeks all on singles, but I am not there yet.

I also experienced a big boost coming off of the higher volume (With or without doubles) that seems to have lasted to this day. Pete Pfitzinger talks about this effect in 'Advanced Marathoning" and suggested that decreases in volume regardless of the starting point yields some very interesting results.

When I started the planning out IM training for this year, I actually used the extra time slots from the doubles for bike workouts and so got an extra scheduling bonus

May's totals:
Bike: 45h 06m 35s - 800.28 Mi
Run: 14h 12m 59s - 95.94 Mi
Swim: 7h 30m 22s

Training for IMLP. Could use a lot more time in the water, but I'm pretty happy with the bike and run volume.  800 miles is by far my largest single month!

I'm finally making in-roads on getting back into it.  All that splashing was in my 10 yard long backyard pool! Also did my 1st run home from work since PF took me out last summer. Had a 'C' sprint race on Sunday and placed 13/36 in AG.  I was excited about it as I had my fastest bike average yet.

May's totals:
Bike:6h 52m 02s - 99.04 Mi
Run:3h 50m 38s - 24.91 Mi
Swim:3h 12m 36s - 8280 Yd

Hey Rollinbones, yup, you are the lead bat on BT! Wink
