You guys crack me up and I just met you all this morning.

Okay, so I'm intrigued....what are Cook Kids, how "cool" are the uniforms, and is there alcohol involved (at the end of the race/training/whatever)?

I'm totally in for a group babysitter! We do not have a sitter at all and it makes those dark-thirty race mornings (or long training runs) difficult.  My oldest will be 12 in Sept.  Think we could get enough pre-teens together to wrangle the younger ones?  LOL.

Showing my newbie ignorance here...what (when and where) is OSW?

Cool kids is an unofficial/official tri club. Membership dues consist of providing malt beverages at your first meeting and giving crap to other members on a routine basis.

OWS - - Open water swim (lake or ocean)

And if you look here in the AZ threads, there is a thread about the OWS and the Sunday bike ride, so go down to the bottom of them and toggle the email notification to YES, and you will know when there is new chatter about upcoming trainings.

Bike Thread:

(Minimum re-order is $300....so Lisa is chomping at the bit to get some others who want to order).

Well yes....I didn't want him to be snatched away by a perv and be really missing!!! BUT you all noticed that we found him like 10 min before race start and then I was like "Ok....race time" and had a great race. I think the uber high HR going into the race helped!

And again...thank you all for helping me search for my kid who really hadn't wandered off....he just wandered a half mile away to a park he thought I said he should go to.  Nothing like a little miscommunication to freak me out!

And I really can't argue with Jerry. In a race I would run over my own kid if he was in my way and going around him would add 2 seconds to my time.

I don't have tread marks up my back from Ragnar. Heck, I think she may even have taken the time to goose me as she went by.

Howdy from the Maicopa Cool Kids.

Just have to say that these threads are going uber fast these days.

I am also pretty new to tris and this group uses a lot of Abreviations and Acronims beyond just tri lingo.  But i'll give you this inside info LBS means Local Bike Shop not pounds.  It took me months to figure that one out.

Aside from the minor language barrier online the Cool Kids are very friendly and helpful.
