Run went well. Didn't know how much to push it since this was my first duathlon. Tried to go at a conservative pace. T1 was also included in run time.
What would you do differently?:

Probably push the pace a little faster.

Transition was included in run #1. Didn't sit down. Changed shoes standing and then took off. Decided to include my gloves, but kept them on the bike and was able to put them on as I was riding.
What would you do differently?:

Put on helmet, but forgot to buckle it. Had to stop right at the transition line to buckle it.

Wind was about 20 MPH consistant out of the south/southwest. 1st hill of each lap was a bitch. Had to slow down to 6-9 MPH. Hit 40 MPH on the downhill on the other side of the loop though. Averaged just under 16 MPH.
What would you do differently?:

Still struggle with multiple hills, so probably just more practice. Also should have used the aerobars more, but still not very comfortable with them.

Hill to start out with. 1st mile went out at a slow pace, but then last mile my legs were feeling pretty good. Passed a guy on the last hill and felt like I could keep going strong.
What would you do differently?:

Felt too good at end, so I am guessing I probably should have gone harder in all 3 legs.

Swim was cancelled due to the poor lake condition. I was initially disappointed that the swim got cancelled, but after finishing the duathlon I felt great. I am hooked and can't wait to actually get to do a triathlon.
