Well I'm not diabetic yet...My blood suger was 104 this last checkup and Doc want's me to limit my intake of Carbs. So, how do I do this and still be able to have fuel for training racing? I have found that it's kind of confusing trying to figure out what carbs to watch out for.

How tall are you?  What is your weight?  If you'd like, you can PM me a "typical" day (or 2 or 3) of food and I can look it over and tweak it if needed as well as provide a carb range for meals/snacks

Its more about balancing carbs throughout your day at each meal/snack rather than looking out for certain carbs

5'6 - 150, Age 37, Body fat is around 10%

Usually for breakfast I'll eat 2 poptarts (Problem number 1)
I'll try and snack mid morning on a banana or apple

Lunch usually consists of dinner leftovers from night before(spaghetti, chili, Jambalaya, fish, chicken) or a wrap with spinach, pickle, mustart, ham, turkey, etc. I thought that I was eating pretty healthy for Dinner and lunches.

Again, Dinners are usally home cooked usually with a protein, Veggy, and usually some sort of pasta, rice or potatoes usually sweet potatoe.

Then I almost always have a snack around 8:30 or so. Sometimes it's Ice cream(problem 2!), chips (usually doritos), Apple slices dipped in Peanut Butter, Wrap with Peanut Butter.

I know that's general but it's pretty close.

considering "normal" is/was 80 - 120, I'd say your numbers are pretty good, but I'm not an MD.  They recently lowered the "good" numbers in an effort to catch people who are pre-diabetic.

Ask to have your A1C numbers checked, it gives a more accurate picture of the last 3 months unlike a finger stick which will pretty much reflect what you have recently eaten.

Ellen-that is exactly what I was thinking on my way home tonight.  Curious to see if it was a fasting # (even so, 106 is w/in range) and if an A1C was done (probably not).  Anyway, what I pm'd is pretty much how we all should eat...carb and pro at each meal/snack

That was a fasting blood test. I did the whole glucose tolerance test a few years back and it was fine but my doc doesn't like anything above 100. I go back in a month so I'll see what he wants to do next. Thanks!
