Well I just started a modified verstion of the 16 sprint program with bike emphasis. Today is a scedualed day off. How can I do that. I seem to have no problem skipping workouts when I need to do them, but want to do them now that I should take a day off. Yesterday was a long bike and I would love to run today. What do you guys think about postponing the day off a day.

I know exactly what you mean. I felt that way yesterday my day off. But today I feel 100% better after taking the day off. Force yourself to do it. Your body needs the time to recover. Good luck and have great training days.

The Off day is just as if not more important than the train day! I know it is hard to rest when you just want to go on a run. But just let me know, I have some hand cuffs and would be willing to let you borrow them so you can cuff yourself to something so you don’t go run! Jack.

Take it off. It's hard I know. Sometimes I have went for an extra workout on my off day only to then push in an unplanned rest day a few days later. I am for the at least one rest day a week program, and may be leaning to 2 rest days as my workout volumes is steadily increasing. Yikes!

PS. make it a stretch day, or learn more about tri day by reading or something, helps keep me excited while resting the body.

I just keep repeating to myself that I am resting to get stronger. Now I see it as an exercise in itself.
