Swim

  • 1640 yards
  • 01m 18s / 100 yards
Transition 1
  • 01m
Comments:

helmet fell off on my aero bars and rolled under the bike next to mine. I had to stretch to get it, lost probably 10 seconds.
What would you do differently?:

put helmet on first
Bike
  • 1h 09m 8s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 21.57 mile/hr
Comments:

ony got passed twice, which is a record for me. With a time trial though, I guess that makes sense. I find that good swimmers are rarely good cyclists, so the blazing guys on the bikes were probably pretty far back in the swim start sequence.
Transition 2

  • 06m 20s  min/mile
Comments:

My overall rank of 3 really surprises me. There were a lot of really fast yonger guys, or at least I thought.
What would you do differently?:

Course: coarse was confussing, there was a sprint race which started at the swim exit and there were 2 sets of bouy's. Had to stop once and try to figure out if I was on the right course. A girl, she went on to win the Women's race was doing an awesome job drafting off of me (I didn't even feel her), until I stopped to figure out if I was one course and she ran right into me, ooppps.

Great Job Brent!!

I had a really good day also (for me)
Finished 5/31 age group and 15/65 masters.
Took a full 5 mins off last years time. I agree, the swim was confusing. Really wanted to go sub 8's on the run, but hammered it on the bike, so paid the price coming out of T2. Rode most of the bike with a rockin ladie, Kelly Crouse. She could hammer and we kept passing each other the whole bike. She avg 21.3mph!! second best of the ladies and missed 1st in her age group by only 23sec.
Overall very happy with my result, first HARD/SPEED race of the season as I have been training slow and long for Fla 70.3 back in May.
Looking forward to Callaway Gardens Altra Sprint next weekend!!
