Comments: Had an adrenaline rush about 20 seconds before the gun. I went out pretty quick, like 6:06 and then felt the surge go away around the .3 mile mark. Ow. After that it was just try to hang on and not let too many people pass me. My pace did slow by around 10 seconds each mile, so I did go out a bit too fast. Either that or mentally I wasn't tough enough. Maybe a combination of the two. Only my 2nd time going under 21 minutes, so I can't really complain. Post race
Event comments: A nice Father's Day event. Fast course. There's a Family 1k after the 5k. Last updated: 2008-06-12 12:00 AM

Up around 6:15, worked a bit (email, found a bug in the new laps graph). Had some coffee and a slice of banana bread then out the door. Beautiful morning.
Met Dud at the Park-n-Ride and he drove us to Frontier Field.
We had a good 15 minute 1.7 mile warmup in 3 stages: 1 easy jog, 1 with pickups, 1 easy jog.
