Hello All..I am just starting to train for my first ever triathlon. I am entered in the first anual Philadelphia Triathlon in June. I have always had this goal, but have not yet tried. I am a semi pro soccer player and devote all my time to that sport. I figured if I keep putting off my goal, I might not ever do it.....

Heather,

Congrats on committing to your triathlon goal! Sounds like you are probably already in great running shape. You'll probably tear it up in your first race!!  Good Luck on the training, and let us all know how its going.

Danny

PS - I used to live in Mt. Holly years ago - its a great area.

Heather, you might want to check out Tristate Multisport. Not entirely sure if they train in locations convenient enough for you. However, I know a couple of really great people who are members. Might be worth checking out.

Patrick, I'm often in Robbinsville since one of my bestfriends lives there. Let me know if you'd like to train some time. By the way, where do you swim? I hear the Robert Wood Johnson Fitness & Wellness Center (on Quakerbridge?) is decent. I used to train at the sister facility in Princeton. Might be worth investigating if they have Masters there.

Cheers, M

M,

Let me know when you might be in the area. I run nearly everyday, but would hesitate to go out with someone as i am pretty slow (or so i think). not doing much road riding with the weather/darkness, but have taken up mtn biking to bridge the gap until warmth. i am riding with frends nearly every weekend - actually we make allaire st. park quite often. sometimes those rides can get a bit too easy depending on who shows, so it would be nice to have somone to 'takeoff' with to keep HR in training pace. i am a pretty strong rider and have no issues with taking on a partner. i can adapt pretty well there.

i have not gotten to a pool yet. i work in jersey city and the commute seriously gets in the way of finding a convenient pool. i am considering RWJ, but have a bit of an issue with paying full membership for a pool. i do have some friends there though, as well as my sister. another consideration is mercer county community college. they have an olympic size, but the hours are extemely limited ... but for $100/year....

shoot me an email [email protected] and we can figure out what we need to do.

have fun,
pat.

Hey Hmski52

My name is john... i belong to a few different tri clubs in the Philly area. On Sats in the spring/summer we get a group together and swim in Marlton we swim at Cential (spelling), like i said i am from Philly so i don't know the area that much but i know it's in Marlton in some development that has a private lake, after our swim we then ride, or start off with the ride, then swim. We have all different ages and abilities. So please free to contact me with any question, about anything.

Anyone on this board is welcome to join us. When the spring comes i will post dates times and of course place.

Looking to start a weekly ride every Sat starting in the NJ area. Doesn’t have to start in NJ, but future weeks (warm weather) we can also do open water swims from this area. The ride will be about 40 miles or so we can go longer, no one gets dropped. If interested please let me know.

We will be having an open water swim/bike this Sat 5/28. We will meet in Marlton Lake area.

You can swim any distance you choose. We are planning about a 40-45 mile bike, we can go longer. For those interested please email within this website...
