Run
Comments: I really liked this course--it was tough but well laid out and well supported. The first few miles were a bit crowded which held your pace back quite a bit, but once things thinned out it was fine. It was very hilly, but it was perfect because just when I got to the point where I thought I couldn't run up anymore, there was a downhill or short flat that lasted JUST long enough for me to steady my HR and catch my breath before starting up another monster. What would you do differently?: Train. Also, I was in the middle of my 1st trimester, so that I'm sure affected both the running I was doing to "train" as well as zap some energy when actually racing. But overall, I was honestly very pleased with the pace I held considering how hilly the course was. Post race
Warm down: Walk around the finish a bit and eat food. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of training and being pregnant. Event comments: This is a really great local trail race. I definitely want to do this race again next year! Last updated: 2007-10-12 12:00 AM

Sit in car to keep warm and jog slowly to start gate. (I.e. not much of a warm up!)
