I'd liek to participate in this also. I 'll have to check my schedule to see how many I have planned. I'll do that tonight.

Put me down for all 21 stages and 23hrs and 16minutes. I promise not to ride fast

Interesting, you goals are very similar to mine (21 stages, 2 days off, 1365 minutes). If we are on the same team , we'll be able to push each other to get it done!

I'd like to participate.  Ten stages (includes 2 time trials) for 450 minutes

Any team would be fine !

 Thanks

Hey total newbie to the challenges but I would love to give it a go. I understand the time in the saddle or distance goal but does stage = # of rides?

I plan on doing about 400- 500 miles this month just not sure how many rides I am going to break it into.

As soon as I figure this out I will post my goals.

Thanks for doing all this work and for letting newbies join in the fun.

Im a big fan of newbies - hell with the time out Ive had Im practically one myself all over again (dont believe me check my logs for the last 2 years!)

Yes the # of stages is just the number of workouts...

There was an earlier questions about what happens with each goal... basically the number of stages is 50% of your overall goal and the distance/time goal is another 50%... hit both of the goals and you score 100% for the challenge!

Zut alors! I just found out about this ... is it too late to play along? I'm a new cyclist this year and will be on a houseboat part of the last week of TdF, so I'd like to sign up for:

10 stages, 150 miles and at least one bottle of Ibuprofen.

Merci!

And mercy!

Ok Cat here goes. Please disregard previous post. My previously stated goals may be just a tad much, I love riding my bike but to be a well rounded tridude I must also run! So put me down for 400 miles in the........22 or 21 days. So no set number of days I must ride just a total mileage! (Gulp) I might just have bitten off more than I care to chew. (Gulp)

BbMoozer - 2008-07-02 1:03 PM I'm not too sure how this all works but looks fun. Can I still sign up? I'm not sure how to work out the stages but I'm up for hours. I'll say from 5-27th that I'll ride 10 hours. (had originally more time but in reading others times, figured maybe I was being too ambitious and not realizing it is not for the entire month...the 5th and 27th are included right?)

Hi - yes both dates are included... stages are just the number of workouts you are planning...

So... you are riding 10 hours....how many workouts (stages) is that based on and voila! There is your goal!

Ive got you on my sign up list now but any questions just let me know

Cat

Hmm... so what if I hit the time goal before or after the number of stages? Like say it rains so I bag a bike ride but then double up the next ride or due to time constraints do a couple of short rides instead of a longer one etc...??

My best guestimate is 9 stages.

If you want to be conservative on the number of stages thats fine with me... each account for 50% of your overall goal so if that is the best way for you to do it then go that way.

can you please change my goal. more reasonable would be 8 hours in 12 stages. would that be ok? otherwise it would be just too much of biking in heat... temp now around 45celsius...

Ok... I think I have figured out my goals

Please put me down for 10 stages and 300 miles. A little conservative but it is my first challenge.

And I will gladly join any team you place me on.

Thanks again. Cat

before I forget... 12 stages for me.  Not sure about miles or time or any of that as I'm working on a made up three week training plan for a sprint, but I know I need twelve stages.

In may I rode 257 mi., in June I rode 232. Is it too late to sign up for 300, with 28 already on the books? I'd like to be on El Flaco's team if at all possible, I like to give him a swift kick in the pants almost every other day to get his butt in gear!

Oh- I guess I didn't understand the stages thing. Is that how many rides you are planning for the month? In that case, I'll say 11 stages. Is that legal? Somebody help...
