Swim
Comments: Water was too warm, coolest part of the swim was lifting my arms out for strokes. I took a break around the turn around bouy and lifted my arms up to cool off. Think a kayaker thought I was signalling for help, so I turned and started swimming again. Transition 1
Comments: Just wanted to cool off getting out of the water. Ran up the hill into T1, but walked to bike once in transition area, was just too hot. What would you do differently?: Run the whole way to bike.... Bike
Comments: Having seen Alice's road rash from the race, I was a little timid in the corners. Probably lost some time due to that... Overall, good ride, need to work on cadence more, but this year was definitly a better ride than last year. Transition 2
Comments: When I got to my rack it was on the ground. Dropped the bike in my spot and started puttin on shoes, and the volunteers started trying to right the rack... that cost me some time... and combined with my run it cost me beating last years time. Run
Comments: Ran well, up to and after, but not during the stitch. This is my first sticth in a race and it was miserable. Walked a bit to cool down and stretch it out then ran through the rest of it. What would you do differently?: Not eat a heavy meal the night before, I am convinced that was the cause of the stitch. Post race
Warm down: BEER - 4 to be exact, and combined with the days of sleepless study/stress for finals, I was in FINE shape by the time we left. Enjoyed talking with PapaHawk, Gygy, QCTC crew, and others post race... What limited your ability to perform faster: Me and my eating habits from the night before. Event comments: Always love this race.... great way to start father's day. Last updated: 2008-06-10 12:00 AM
