Run
Comments: i seeded myself kinda close to the back.. which was weird because I'm usually a very strong runner.. But with recent calf problems, I was worried about a pull just "coming out of nowhere" passed a few people Transition 1
Bike
Comments: Bike was good .. came out of a weird transition.. a bird had flown into my bike shoe .. like WTF ?? got on the bike.. passed a bunch of people.. I have to admit.. I like to jaw at other riders as I go past them.. just stuff like "how ya doin' ?" and "great job".. there was a killer hill, that I was ready for.. everything was great until the dismount .. I had taken my feet out of my shoes and was about to jump off when out of nowhere.. this jackass screeches to halt right in front of me.. "like dude.. get the F out of my way" What would you do differently?: go faster ? Transition 2
Run
Comments: woof.. I should've been doing brick training .. legs were stiff and slow but had a great kick at the end.. What would you do differently?: do more bricks.. have to do more bricks Post race
Warm down: waited for heart rate to slow.. walked around a bit.. What limited your ability to perform faster: being ill as a dog the last week and half.. and plus the calf injury really worried me Last updated: 2008-06-10 12:00 AM

woke up at 6 am ..had some oatmeal w/ peanut butter and a waffle .. a CLIF Bar and some sports drink on the way to the site.. Packed up the bike and air pump.. pumped up tires .. found my rack and prayed for no rain..
I'd been ill for the last week and was worried about my calf exploding.. I had done a group ride for the bike portion last week, so I knew the course.. so I did some light jogging in place.. but tried to keep it low key..
