Brad from Peoria Az, scheduled to hopefully complete the Toyota Day at the Beach in San Diego this September. The event consists of a half mile swim 18 mile bike & a 4 mile run. This is a personal goal for me and I am going from couch potato to wannabe triathalete. Nice to meet everyone and I enjoy reading your stories it is great motivation.

Welcome to BT and congrats on the decision to do a tri!

September is definitely do-able. Just follow the plan you've picked out and don't listen to anyone that says you can't.

The other thing is that there are some awesome resources on this site, most important of which are the people.  Read through the forums to soak up information and do not be afraid to ask questions ... this is beginner triathlete afterall.

Be sure to log your workouts.  It will keep you accountable to yourself, help you build momentum and, most importantly, it is almost impossible to know where you are going if you do not know where you have been.

This is the site that took me through my first triathlon ... and then all the way through Ironman Florida last year.

Stick with the training plan, believe in yourself and you will do alright.

Good luck and train hard!

I've visited and read this site for the past couple years and finally got up the nerve to train.  I completed my first Tri last weekend and had an AWESOME experience.

Good luck in San Diego and everytime a voice tells says you "can't" tell it to shut the hell up and keeping swimming, biking and running!
