Seems like good weather for the race.  Awesome bike leg!!  Too bad about the run.  Would love to do this next year myself.  How do you like the time trial format?  I find it a lot of fun as you set your sight to pass the person in front...

Yes, awesome bike leg! I guess the organizers need to realize, that at that point runners after exhausting themselves on the bike and swim see things differently (or don't see some things at all). Apparently this happens a lot and makes the whole experience a bit sour.  But you did your bit superbly. Congratulations!

From where I see this, it wasn't that bad. Pretty good overall actually. Run was kinda demoralizing I understand, but it was pain free!

Ride was amazing. What are you doing wearing gloves? You don't wear gloves in a tri...especially one of this distance. They just are not necessary and they just slow you down.

I think you had too many carbs for early breakfast  - and probably too much fruit. Way too much fibre before a race - and too much sugar, you should be focusing on burning fat, you should have enough glycogen in you.

Besides that, I think you should hold your head high. You finished, you had some great achievements and the swim was comfortable.

 Good work, Kevin!

WOW!  Awesome bike!  Well done!  Run was a little confusion, but sounds like it was from poor race direction.  And no knee pain!

Glad you had a good day, congrats!  I agree with Terry on the gloves... I gave up on them on my last race, not worth it.

Congrats on the race Kevin!  Don't be too hard on yourself...you couldn't control the fact that the run course was confusing.  Your bike time was amazing and it's great that you were able to run without pain!!

Any pain-free run is a good run in my book!!  Congratulations on the race, particularly that smokin' fast bike!  You might try going without gloves... even when I do a longer distance bike relay I don't take the time to put them on and I've gotten so used to it that wearing them (which I did on a 75-miler a few weeks ago) feels weird (I actually ended up taking them off).  Nutrition is one of the hardest things to nail and it's different for everyone.  That said, you still had a very solid race!  Great job, Kev.

Nice job on the tri!  I think you are being too hard on yourself.  You had a great bike, just a little under on the nutrition.  That will be easy to fix for next time.  I'm not sure there was much you can do for the run.  I usually follow what the volunteers tell me because they might have more up to date info than what I have.

As far as the gloves, you could try the gel bar tape.  I think that's what I might try next time so that I don't have to screw around with gloves.  I didn't wear any yesterday and my hands were definitely tingly by the end, so I understand where you're coming from.

awesome.. these are the routes I usually train on anyway.. I'll run along Southworth along Crowland to Main.. down Main to the path along the path.. past the arena about 10K .. but on my bike ? to Pt. Colbourne and Wainfleet, Ft. Erie, Niagara Falls is not uncommon..

aahh.. you make me miss Welland.. I'll be back at the end of July til Civic Day in Aug..

YES YES YES !!!!!

Freaking awesome race !!

Good swim which it sounds like you nailed

The bike ……….I think Wayne from “Wayne’s World” said it best, “I am not worthy”

Run……well, that is just the kind of things that are not suppose to happen I can understand how this can ruin a completely good race, and if it happened to me I would be absolute steaming !!!

But when you evaluate the run, you came out of it pain free and that is the main point

My 2c on the bike gloves I don’t think it would be a good idea to take them off on the bike, especially if they are stuck. You could either run with them I do that all the time, of cause it is a bit colder here ! Or the simples way, take them off on the run and put them inside the tri-suit, it might feel a bit weird in the beginning but so what, it will be the fastest way

Again, you did awesome and get some aerobars
