So, who else is doing the Clear Lake sprint on July 12th?

I'm considering it.  Money is tight so I have to choose just a few tris this summer instead of the zillion I want to do!!

I'll be there. For some reason I thought it was on the 19th. Oh no I just lost a week of prep time. I am still hurting from this weekend (Lake Padden Tri).

I am going to sign up today. Years ago I used to hunt ducks in the lake next to Clear Lake (Beaver). I did a cold swim in that lake one New Years day after my boat sank. Haven't been there in a long time.  I get cold  just thinking about that place.

Is there an online registration for this race somewhere? I am having trouble finding it.

I'm pretty sure the only way to register is by mail. I called yesterday and there is still plenty of room, but they say the cut-off is July 3rd.

I called today today and mail is the only way. They said they would accept the registration I mailed today (it may not get there tomorrow) so I am there.

Does anybody know how they start this race? I am thinking if it's a small race they may not have enough people to start by age group.

I stopped by the registration office this afternoon and they said they have about 100 people signed up so far and about ten teams. Not sure if they are going to do waves. A couple would be nice.

I also checked out the beach. Very, very nice little park. Looks like a great place for families with kids.

The bike course is pretty flat country road. A lot of 90 degree turns zigzagging through farmland. Very pretty area. A bit of a climb before the turnaround but nothing dramatic. They said they will have plenty of overflow parking just north of the park. Should be a fun day.

I think I'll try to do this.

Have some scheduling things going on but will send in registration today then if life gets in the way i'll just have to do a no show.

Looks like a really good size of triathlon for me since I'm pretty nervous about the whole racing experience.

Hope I can go, looks fun!

I rode the course Saturday.  It was very windy, but otherwise a nice ride.

Actually. I won't be wearing my Javelin suit tomorrow. I'll be in black shorts and either a light blue racer back zoot shirt or a purple and blue sleeves nike cycle jersey. Which ever makes me look thinner. lol

If any of you run past a thick guy in a yellow Team FCA Endurance tank top, that would be me.

Good luck everybody!

I am not wearing the jav suit either...black trisuit, Zoot wetsuit, blue nike tank overtop for bike and run.  Tall, busty, with dark hair probably in two ponytails.  Hanging with Lynne--listen for the Scottish accent.  You will find us.

It was a great day. I think I recognized a few of you but I was busy chasing my 2 year old around. He was more work than the race.

Very nice event. The swim was a little tough for me as it seemed people were taking turns zig-zagging in front of me. It was much more contact than the last three events I've done. I was very dizzy coming out of the water. The bike though was awesome. I had to enter as a team because of a sore achilles tendon and just swam/biked (my son ran) so was really able to put the hammer down on the bike.
