I am a skilled trades supervisor in a GM truck plant.  I have two floors, two differnt truck lines and about 400,000 sq feet of fllor space packed wiht stuff to keep running.  Long days, lunch every now and then.  Have you seen the cost of gas?  You know how truck sales are, lots of stress in my job

I was once a mason, laying concrete block foundations for houses for 10 hours a day in the summer heat. I once came home at 7pm, tripped on the step leading into the kitchen, the cool tile floor felt so good on my face that I just fell asleep. Bigfuzzydad was kicking me at 6am the next morning, "wake up Doug. Time to get out to the job site for work. Here's breakfast for the car."

And it was back to work. That was pretty intense. These days I just shine a chair with my butt and tell other people what to do. Pretty lame when you think about it.

This story reminds me of working in a stable as a kid.  Volunteered b/c I loved horses (smart free labor for the stable owner).  I was like 12, working 6+ hours in the middle of summer mucking stalls.  I would come home totally wiped out and my mom would say, "you are NOT falling asleep on m my furniture like that!" and I would proceed to pass out in the middle of the floor for hours.

I commend everyone with a physical labor job that also trains for tri's.  Talk about HTFU.

I do massage therapy, which isn't highly intense, but it is highly physical.

I leave work and I am worn flat out for the day, almost have to take a nap before I go to work out.

I'm at my construction job from 6:45am to 5:45pm. Then I go straight to training. I usually don't get home until at least 8:00pm. And then I have to be in bed by 10

I'm a Project Manager so I'm either on the computer, in a meeting or on a conference call.  Very sedentary, which is not good and makes me really stiff.  I just finished a 15.5 hour day (I worked from 9:00 a.m. Thursday until 12:30 a.m. Friday morning).  That really cuts into my workout time.  It is a stressful job but not physical.  At least the people with physical jobs are getting that physical activity.  I got none today.  I even cooked a TV dinner in the microwave and ate at my desk for both lunch and dinner.

I am an air traffic controller in the Navy.  Definitely not physical, unless you count rolling a chair around and staring out windows or at a radar screen,  but there are times when it can tax the nerves a bit.  I was previously stationed at a tactical control squadron that deployed with Marines.  Now that was full on high intensity in every aspect...

I am a personal trainer, and a student. Those two things arent physically tired, but they do make me mentally tired. I find that training makes my mind calm down though.
I used to work at a feed store, I loaded trucks all day with hay bales, and bags of feed etc.
I dont know how you all get the energy to do endurance training after a day like that.
That is awesome! Keep it up, most people wouldn't...
