Comments: I am completely amazed at my time. Normally in training runs and triathlons I run 9:45ish if I am lucky. According to the watch 8:49 pace. I just can't believe it. This was an age handicap race and my age group went out 2nd to last so for first 1/2 mile or so I was in last place because the 5 kids behind me took off. I couldn't believe how fast some people were running, Running my pace I only finished ahead of 10-15 people. Looks like some of my training must be paying off. What would you do differently?: nothing  Post race
Warm down: Stretched, ate a bagel and drank some water. They gave out all kinds of goofy prizes at the end. Pretty damn good for a $5.00 race. Event comments: DC Road Runners always put on a good race. If you aren't a serious runner prepared to get dusted, there are some very fast people in their races. Last updated: 2008-07-04 12:00 AM

Woke up around 6:15, got the kids out of bed and headed over to neighbors house to drop kids off and pick up neighbor to run.
Ran probably .5 miles to get my heart moving and to stretch the legs, probably a good thing as my legs felt like lead
