Run
Comments: This is actually my first 10k, not that that matters much. Would have liked to gone a bit faster (thought I could go sub 7:30 miles), but felt good anyway. Generally speaking, just tried to stay in contact with the young hottie in front of me and stay ahead of the older (i.e. my age) hottie behind me. Absolutely beautiful morning for a good run. 3 drink stations for a 10k I thought was fantastic. What would you do differently?: I wonder if I had started off a bit slower if my overall time would have been better, as I got passed by several people in the last mile, despite keeping a basically steady pace. Post race
Warm down: Not much, bottle of water and headed home to the family Turns out I actually won my age group, which is a first. Unknown if there were any spoils as I was home by the time the awards ceremony started. I would have stayed, but the wife wasn't feeling great and the kids were waiting on me to eat breakfast. Event comments: Well run local race organized by the high school cross country coach, who is a stud runner and triathlete himself. Needless to say, I would not have won the M30-39 age group had Jesse been on the course instead of back at base camp keeping things running smoothly. Last updated: 2008-06-04 12:00 AM
