Pre-race routine:

Groggy, tired and fatigued. 3rd race in the past 7 days, 9th since June 1 and 22nd this year. I knew I was pushing it but I wanted to test myself. Anyway, Cinnamon and sugar pop tart, coffee and Red Bull for breakfast - My usual. Got to the race sight early and got a great transition spot next to Dan (velocomp).
Event warmup:

Hung out, chatted, used the bathroom. No swim warm-up cuz it was a little chilly and I didn't want to get wet.
Swim
  • 13m 23s
  • 600 meters
  • 02m 14s / 100 meters
Comments:

This swim includes a 400 meter run to transition (my official time is 14:33)

This sucks. I thought that I was swimming well but I guess I wasn't. It sucks being 5 minutes behind right after the swim; especially in these short triathlons.
What would you do differently?:

Transition 1
  • 00m 50s
Comments:

A little slow, but not too bad.
Bike
  • 34m 25s
  • 13.7 miles

Comments:

Great bike. It was hilly so the course was a bit slow, but I rode well and had the 2nd fastest bike split of the day.
Transition 2
  • 00m 36s
Comments:

Good transition. I lost a few seconds cuz my shoe insole buckled
Run
  • 18m 59s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 06m 07s  min/mile
Comments:

I was a little on the slow side today. Still I managed the 4th fastest run and I worked hard.

Event comments:

Great race. It was fun to hang with Dan>

I believe I remember seeing you on Sunday.... a couple times actually. After the race with your pup...great looking Boxer BTW, and during the run when you came flying past me like I was walking . Next time, now that I know who you are, I'll introduce myself. Damn good race. You're a fast SOB, and I am real glad you're not in my AG.

I didn't know that Cinnamon pop tart and red bull was your usual Sounds like it worked though. Great job, especially given that it's 3rd race in 7 days!
