Solid run. I went out way to slow for the first 25k. Lap pace was hanging out in the 10:30 / mile range as I was running by the HR. During the second 25k, I took off and was dropping people left and right. A lady and I tag teamed it all the way to the last three miles where I had more in the tank and pushed it into the 7 min mile range.

Was surprised to see the rough shape many of the people where in.

This was a perfect course for a first ultra. A bit boring but well stock aided stations, nice people and a relatively flat and easy course.

Stretch, hobble to the bathroom, drove to Charlotte and passed out at my brothers for the next 10 hours.

I don't think it was the running but the sugar overload from all the Krispy Creme's. :)


If this fits in my schedule with the end of winter break (being a teacher rocks), it'll be an annual event. Good people, good course, good aid and a good race.
