Anyone live near Gravenhurst and would know the temp of Muskoka Bay? Just curious.

Looking like good weather for this coming weekend...........

Wishing everyone has a great race...I'm looking forward to it.

So am I!  We should find out about the water temp tomorrow in the HSBC Race pre-race email.

All the best on Saturday or Sunday!

I did the try-a-tri last year and the water temp was fine. The swim is in a fairly protected area - i.e. small bay/harbour so I think it warms up easily.

I'm a little nervous about jumping off the steamship with goggles. It is supposed to be about a 6' drop. Do the goggles stay in place OK? Is it best to hold onto them and slip into the water?

I'm only doing the swim and bike segments due to an ankle injury, so don't worry when you don't see me un the run.

Does anyone know if the start just one big wave with all ages or do we go in the usual waves?

I suspect for safety reasons likely by wave...too many to go all at once. What a sight that would be!

Wishing you a great race....even if you can't run.....still will be a great day I know!!!!!

It will be wave, I just got the pre-race email.

Water temperature is at 74 F, and the forcast is warm and humid on Saturday for the olympic distance.  Perfect temp for the swim. I am not particularly fond of wearing a wetsuit because it constricts my movements more than anything else.

I also read that lots of sections of the bike course are tree covered.

I am stopping by Gravenhurst tomorrow on my way to the hotel in Bracebridge.  I will be driving both the run and bike courses.
