Overall Rank = 675/1321
Age Group = 35-39
Age Group Rank = 32/105
Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 4:30a.m. Not much energy and pretty much had to drag my donkey azz out of bed. Had my normal PB & Bagel..kwik trip coffee and banana. Wasn't feeling real excited at all about doing a DU.
Event warmup:

Not much for a warmup except for a little bit of stretching and standing in line for 30 minutes waiting to pee. I figured out why I like the tris so much...you can pee in your wetsuit!! Chatted with Craig, Djdavey, Scooby and JmWebs.
Run
  • 11m 53s
  • 1.3 miles
  • 09m 08s  min/mile
Comments:

Ok run...so used to swimming first.
Transition 1
  • 02m
Comments:

Couldn't find my bike!!!
What would you do differently?:

Pay attention to where I rack my bike!
Bike
  • 52m 31s
  • 16.4 miles
  • 18.74 mile/hr
Comments:

WINDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have never seen so many crashes at a sprint before. I think it was a combination of the wind and sooo many people. Hit the hills pretty hard...did I mention it was friggen WINDY! I was overall pleased with the bike portion considering the conditions.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Transition 2
  • 02m 13s
Comments:

Again...why am I so slow in transition?
Run
  • 30m 37s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 09m 53s  min/mile
Comments:

I wasn't real pleased with this run!! I went out hard on the bike and my quads were screaming just a bit!! Just wasn't feelin this one!
Post race
Warm down:

Met up with some of the donks, ate some food and drank a bloody mary!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

WIND!

Event comments:

Probably would not do this race again for a couple of reasons. Very unsecure transition area and way to many people for the amount of space they had. Not enough porta potties and I was not happy I had to start this race out running. Would have rather gone swimming. Of course had a blast with all the BTers.

Ummmm, was it WINDY??

Sorry to hear that it didn't work out the way you planned it, Sunshine, but, write it down as a learning lesson.

Nice job on the race, especially since it wasn't what you were planning.

Were there challenges out there today? Sure, but you did get the chance to see me, so you know, that's gotta count for something! Besides after two HIMs in two weeks, this shoulda been nuthin'. As always, great to see you and great job on a challenging day. I'm with you on du's, though. If it's a Du, it's a Don't.

Although you hated the race, super duper job out there.  Great to chat with you can Craig today.  Glad we were able to find you before we left.  Hope to get in a wave with you some day.  Maybe Pleasant Prairie?  See you next weekend.

Sorry it was a cruddy race for you. That sucks. But, that's some great bike speed for the wind you were dealing with.
