Comments: Flat courses are hard for me. I felt fine until the last 1.5 miles when I started to shuffle. My toes on my right foot got very painful so stepping on a rock on the ball of foot caused great discomfort. At mile 6 I walked for 20 sec. I was then able to get out of the survival shuffle mode. I missed my goal time by 1:49! Average pace was slower than Almond Bowl in November, that's disappointing. New goal is to focus on speed in 5K distances. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Pain in right foot, flat course. I do well in the mountains due to down hill recovery. None of that on a flat course! Last updated: 2005-01-26 12:00 AM
