Swim
Comments: Yuck - crowded hot water swim, poor line = slow swim! What would you do differently?: Get some sleep the night before? I just felt tired & the more I worked the slower I got! Transition 1
Comments: Pretty smooth T1 What would you do differently?: not much Bike
Comments: Fun bike, a little crowded but I only had really rude passers once when a guy squeezed by as I was passing someone & going 32 mph downhill. He was really close & didn't give me any warning. What would you do differently?: Nothing, I really had fun on the bike and felt great. Got up to 38 mph on the downhill! Transition 2
Comments: We reg. late so we were on the race w/ relay racers - they were hanging out and leaning on the rack in my spot paying no attention & even after I yelled (politley) they took their time. Took the time to put on socks for the run - glad I did that! What would you do differently?: nothing Run
Comments: UUUUG - everybody passed me on the run. I was just SLOW! Nothing really wrong, just couldn't get my legs going. I don't think I went out too hard on the bike, I just think I was tired from the night's sleep (or lack of) and the bike the day before. What would you do differently?: Sleep the night before?! Post race
Warm down: Walked around w/ Paul, talked to Russ then helped break down (we get to race for free when we break down after the race) It's a good hour and a half to two hours of hard work but worth the $$ we save!! What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of sleep, lack of speed work Last updated: 2008-07-13 12:00 AM

We stayed at the cabins at Prince William Forest Park - great cabins, beautiful park - noisy drunk neighbors. They kept us up until 3:30 am!! Got up at 5 and drove over to the race site. Blurry eyed and dazed!
1 mile bike from parking lot to race site.
