Subject: Prayer request for fallen warrior

Folks, I am not a religious man, but I could use your help.

One of my Marines died a few days ago.  Out of respect for the family (though they already know, of course) I don't want to give out personal details.  However, the young man's father asked that those of us still deployed over here take a moment at the time of his funeral service to offer a prayer for him.

The funeral is at 10:00 AM Eastern Standard Time on Saturday, 19 Saturday.  That's 5:00 PM here in Iraq, so many of us will - operations permitting - take a moment to reflect on what this warrior meant to us.  If you can, I ask that you join us.  I know I haven't given you a name, but maybe you could address is to "Any Soldier/Sailor/Airman/Marine" and trust that it will get taken care of from there.

Thanks so much for your help.  For those of you who have already PM'd/inspired me, I can't tell you how much your thoughts have meant to me.  If you haven't figured out by now, I love my Marines a great deal and would do anything for them, so this loss has really affected me.

Absolutely!  Thank you for your service and that of your men and women over there.  I'll add your fallen warrior to my daily prayers for all our friends over there - those who were KIA and those still serving.

Take care of yourself!

Prayers sent Dave, thanks for your service, and your Marine's ultimate sacrifice.  I will actually be at Camp Pendleton on 7/19 at 10 AM for the Oly, and will give a shout out.

Just to clarify...10 Eastern Standard Time or Eastern Daylight Time?  I'll be on a train headed to New Mexico, but I'll take the appropriate moment.

My little guy and I will cross our street and make our way over to the Veteran's Memorial tomorrow and say a prayer for all....

He wants to be a soldier someday (and a policeman!).  Our sincere thanks to all who serve.  God bless.

Count me in. I will be on a campout/rapelling exercise with our Scouts, so we will all take a moment at 10:00am EST.

My oldest son is in Boot (Ohio Army National Guard) at Ft. Leonard Wood right now (Graduation 21 August, can't wait). He will return for his senior year of High School, then back to LW for MP training next summer, at which time my younger son will be in Boot somewhere, also between his junior and senior year of HS.

May God Bless you and and all of our troops fighting for the world's freedom.

I cannot say more than THANK YOU.
