Musselman Triathlon
91F / 33C
Sunny
Total Time = 1h 29m 39s
Overall Rank = 233/
Age Group = 30-34
Age Group Rank = 21/34
Pre-race routine:

I tried something a little different today. I decided to "get in the zone" more with some alone time and my ipod. It was nice as it got me psyched and more focused to do the race.
Event warmup:

Very light warmup and some leg and arm stretches.
Swim
  • 08m 59s
  • 500 yards
  • 01m 48s / 100 yards
Comments:

I struggle on this swim for no reason at all. I'm normally much better than what I did, but what can you do. I can blame the seaweed right? :)
What would you do differently?:

To not think the chop will push me around so much. I swam to compensate for it pushing me, but it didn't effect my line as much as I thought it would.
Transition 1
  • 01m 47s
Comments:

Still need to work on my speed in transition. The wetsuit came off a little tough this time, but still not bad.
What would you do differently?:

take deep breaths going into and in transition to calm my body.
Bike
  • 48m 29s
  • 15 miles
  • 18.56 mile/hr
Comments:

Was a very smooth ride, almost felt like I was just out for a cruise on my bike.
What would you do differently?:

Could have gone harder
Transition 2
  • 01m 36s
Comments:

Still need better transitions!!!
Run
  • 28m 48s
  • 3 miles
  • 09m 36s  min/mile
Comments:

My downfall is always the run, I've been working on it, and vow to get better. It was pretty warm out there though, and being a bigger guy it hurts.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Post race
Warm down:

Hit the showers for a quick cool down, then some stretching

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Run pace!!!

Event comments:

Jeff did a great job with this race.

Thanks... Now I just need to get to start lowering the fat-weight as well, and I think I will start to see even better times. 230 feels like too much on the knees.
