  • 1931 meters
  • 01m 48s / 100 meters
Comments:

After the shock of the cold I tried to find someone to draft. Once I found someone they would stand up or other people would cut in between.
I finally found someone and they were slwo enough to bring my HR down.

What would you do differently?:

I had a neopene cap but I would like to have neoprene booties
Transition 1
  • 02m 10s
Comments:

The guy on my right had his bike right in the path. He was adjusting his gears. The guy on my left had a flat and was fixing it in the path too.
I finally asked them to move so I could get out. My wetsuit took some time too since I normally use the shorty which is quick to take off.
What would you do differently?:

nada
Bike
  • 2h 56m 32s
  • 56 miles
  • 19.03 mile/hr
Comments:

I started refueling once on the bike starting w/ heed then water then sustain energy. I drank so much I almost peed on my bike. That was plan but I could not relax to pee. I also had 1 hammer gel. I was planning on wearing sox on the bike but I am glad I did not.
What would you do differently?:

pee on bike maybe hammer a little harder. I was holding back so I had enough for the run.
Transition 2
  • 01m 37s
Comments:

Its not easy jumping off the bike going downhill but I did it.
What would you do differently?:

remeber to bring visor and sun glasses
Run
  • 2h 11m 13s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 10m 01s  min/mile
Comments:

So I had drank alot of fluids on the bike and was hoping to pee on the bike. I felt bloated but I ran then I decided I would pee at the 2nd water station. I stopped and poored water on me as though I was hot but was peeing standing up. Aahhh, then I ran.
What would you do differently?:

Pee on the bike, all the water I spilled on me made my running shoes heavy and my sox were wet.
Post race
Warm down:

I went to the medical tent for ice. I put ice on my knees and under my feet. Of course I took my shoes and sox off.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I need swimming lessons

Event comments:

The race started 1 hour late but it was worth it.

It was nice meeting new people at the BT dinner and at the race event..
I need to thank Kelly for convincing me not to bail out of the swim. Thnx
I want to thank Laura for huge candy bag.
I would like to also thank Jess for laughing at all my corny jokes.
Ellen, I hope you had fun too.
Oh yeah, Whizz was making all of us laugh wearing the rudy project helmet backwards and acting like a penguin.

Great race for you Griz. You paced yourself and stayed strong for all the events. And you figured out a couple more things that are going to just keep making you faster in the future.

And maybe your socks and shoes were heavy because you pee'd on them. I'd wash those thing if I were you. ASAP!

Nice job dawg.  Pretending to pour water over your head.  Outstanding!!  I got to remember to use that one.  I HATE standing in lines.  So your shoes were heavy and your sox were wet,  I wonder why.  It was good to see you and MissKelly before the race at transition.  I am glad you didn't bail out of the swim.

Nice race!
