Overall Rank = 239/500

Pre-race routine:

1 Gu and a G2 with water. Not much food as I had a pretty decent dinner last night. Pick up Dad and load up the truck and head to Newport.
Event warmup:

My warmup was running around the parking lot looking for Dad after we got separated after dropping off the kayak. Nice bead of sweat going as I got into the wetsuit.

Comments:

This is Save the Bay's annual fundrasier. It seems to be a great place to find people that wear Ironman gear also! STB puts on a well organized event with an amazing after party. I would have loved to partake but I had a 30 mile ride afterwards.

The swim was great. The weather was perfect. I had the Newport Bridge to sight off of since I lost Dad after the cannon went off.
What would you do differently?:

Get a better meeting spot with Dad. Get goggles that work.
Post race
Warm down:

Wander around Jamestown.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Weight...although that is coming off rather nicely. Goggles sucked.

Event comments:

Best OWS in New England!
